Here is a very good image by Johannes Schedler that shows the Pleiades with the comet: http://panther-observatory.com/temp/M45_Mach_30.jpg Taking a look at the position angle of the tail and using this finder chart... http://encke.jpl.nasa.gov/images/04Q2/q2-3.gif ...it looks like the Pleiades will be shining through the tail of the comet during a window between January 7.5 through 8.1 UT. The latter end of that window corresponds to the end of twilight here in Arizona, when the comet is well up in the east. That would be a spectacular image. I hope somebody captures it. At this point, it would probably be best not to bring up the sore subject of the weather forecast for Friday night.
