Here is an image taken on a hot Friday night at Picketpost. The comet passed very close to M71 last weekend. This weekend, it passes by the Coathanger asterism in Vulpecula. The image was taken with a Canon 50D using a 300mm lens with a 1.4x extender at f/5.6. Exposure was 4 minutes at ISO 1000. NGC 6802 is the open cluster at the right edge of the frame. This image would have looked a lot better if the ambient temperature were about 50 degrees cooler. http://members.cox.net/tpolakis/astro/IMG_8449.jpg Tom -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
