Howdy all; I did get out for a little bit this weekend and I have been having some = fun doing wide angle stuff with binoculars and my little RFT refractor. = Here is an observation of Cr 65 in Orion. Position: 05 25 +16 06. Collinder 65=20 =20 8X42 binoculars are perfect for this huge cluster. I counted 23 stars = that are 70% of the field of view in the wide angle binoculars, that is a = large cluster. It is obviously not compressed, there is a lovely triple star = on the southern edge of the group. =20 4" f/6 RFT refractor with 35mm Panoptic shows 28 stars of mags 6, 7 and = 8; and another 30 pretty faint stars that fill the entire field of view in = the RFT! I see it as very bright, extremely large and somewhat scattered at 17X. It has been fun chasing this huge clusters with the wide field = instruments.
