Heavy sky glow to the south/moderate to the west. Omega Centuri was visible but very washed out. Seeing started off around 4/10 improved after 10 to probably 7/10. Overhead was very dark - Milky Way was pretty well defined, but not as dramatic as at Antennas. And then there was the dead cow. Not a problem until the wind shifted to the east. Winds were light and thankfully variable - otherwise the night would have ended sooner rather than later. -----Original Message----- From: az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Stan Gorodenski Sent: Sunday, May 13, 2012 9:29 AM To: AZ-Observing Subject: [AZ-Observing] Cherry Site How was the Cherry site last night? At Dewey, about 20 miles west of the site, I was able to get nice images of Saturn at 419 magnification. The seeing was pretty good, even if the sky seemed lighter than I liked.
