I've been so pleased with my Nikon D5300, acquired in March 2016, that I
decided to take the next step* and have it "IR modded", (removing the IR
filter) by LifePixel Infrared Camera Conversion services at

Last night, with the newly modified camera, I imaged M1, The Crab Nebula, seen
here:
