[AZ-Observing] Re: Bright meteor heading toward PHX

This is surely referring to the Taurid meteor stream.
This is a long-duration stream that has already been running for a couple of
weeks. The Taurids are nice slow meteors, though often fairly bright (but not
like last night's).
It's more likely that the news Googled "meteor shower calendar," which led them
to the Leonids peaking this week. The radiant of last night's sporadic
fireball was nowhere near either Tauris or Leo.
