Howdy, folks! We're doing a few astronomy-related activities here at the Arizona Science Center in May that I wanted to let you know about. May's Adult's Night Out (May 7th) will have an astronomy theme. Dr. Jeff Hester will be speaking that night in the planetarium about the Big Bang--the same talk he gave last night to EVAC. We'll also have a virtual tour of the planetarium before and after his presentation. On May 15th, we're planning an observing session outside to coincide with the total lunar eclipse. While the exhibits won't be open, we'll set up some telescopes on our east-facing steps, and more can be placed in Heritage Square. Anyone who would like to come and join us is welcome! Please let me know if you're bringing a telescope. On Saturday May 17th, we're holding our own "Astronomy Day", with tables for clubs and organization, and displays and activities throughout the science center. This year we're focussing more on children's activities and less on adult-oriented presentations. If you would like to do a workshop, activity, just volunteer for the day, or have your organization participate, please let me know as soon as possible. _______________________________________ Christine Shupla Planetarium Director Arizona Science Center (602) 716-2078 shuplac@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
