Stan, you seem to be going through a stage we all get to at one time or another. Wearing glasses, like myself, is one indicator; basiclly we are speaking of the age factor, which none of us can escape. Over the years, Steve Coe, others and myself, have experienced this also; our decision is to take a break from observing and sit down for a while; when I sat sit I really mean sit - get off of your feet to rest everything. How long will depend on several factors, fatigues and the labor factor being the biggest considerations; but try 15 minutes for starters. You might consider having a snack while resting. Also, raising your feet can also help. If the glasses are bothering you take them off, or leave them on - whichever helps you rest. Having to wear glasses is a real pain, I need them to see the stars but not to read the star chart. They are bifocal but it just doesn't seem to help. Using a chain isn't good either because there's always a flashlight on a chain around my neck. Once I get the telescope calibrated (much easier now than before) I take the glasses off so there's only the flashlight around neck. Hope this helps, aj http://www.saguaroastro.org StanFM@xxxxxxx wrote: > I started observing with EVAC in the mid 90's per my notes and early > sketches.
