Last wednesday I checked out a brand new book by David
Weintraub, from the Bear Canyon branch of the
Tucson/Pima County Public Library.

Weintraub is Professor of Astronomy at Vanderbilt
University and has won their Undergraduate Teaching
Excellence award.

The book offers a calm and measured review of the
Pluto naming controversy, in chapters 13 and 14,
preceded by an absorbing account of the Kuiper family
objects.

The title : Is Pluto a Planet ? A Historical Journey
through the Solar System.

IAU, please do not vote on scientific matters.

Let the long established scientific method of
publication of observations and theories allow the
truth to come through.

Professor Weintraub's startling conclusion in page 220
:

The Solar System has more than 20 planets !!!

It is a good read !

Victor Herrero
