Although thinking of taking the plunge myself, be forewarned that webcam modifications are not for the faint of heart. Some mods require lifting pins on the CCD chip. They are extremely small and may require filing the soldering tip to a point. You could easily damage your $$ camera in this or other ways, but oh well you've already voided the warranty by opening it up. Just a warning in advance and oh yes, good luck!
