Negotiations are still underway at the State Capital to pass a budget and plans still call for taking the Heritage Fund. We are looking at a sweep of about 70 to 80% of the Heritage Fund. The proposed budget calls for taking $10 million for the General Fund. On top of that --- there is a plan to take the rest of the State Parks Heritage Fund money and use if for operations and maintenance. This is planned because the State Parks budget has been slashed so dramatically, this will mean that basically ALL of State Parks Heritage Fund money has been diverted from the projects that were intended when the law passed. The Heritage Fund Statute states that, "In no event shall any monies in the fund revert to the state general fund ....." What can YOU do! Call ! ! ! There is a Call-In-Day planned for Tuesday ! ! ! On Tuesday, June 2nd we are asking that everyone even if you have called before -- call again call their Senators, Representatives and the Governor.
