On Friday, Feb. 14th The Joint meeting of the Senate and House Appropriations Subcommittee met to adopt the State Parks budget and to hear and adopt the Game & Fish Budget. After 3 hours of hearings Game and Fish was able to make their presentation. However, the Committee decided not to act on either the Game & Fish or State Parks budget and rescheduled for this Friday Feb. 21st at 9 AM in Senate Room 109. WE STILL NEED a strong presence at that meeting to demonstrate the importance these departments and the Heritage Fund. Thank you to everyone who has called or emailed these legislators. But, if you cannot attend please remind them one more time how important the Heritage Fund is to the present and future of Arizona. The JLBC proposed budget will reduce the Heritage Fund by 10M in FY '03 and 5M in FY '04 which coupled with the Heritage Fund monies that the State Parks Department receives will result in a combined reduction of $30 million for the Heritage Fund. In fiscal year 2002 the Heritage Fund received a total of $17.5 million. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Senator Arzberger marzberg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (602)542-4321 Senator Burns rburns@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (602)542-5993 Senator Martin dmartin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (602)542-5284 Senator Soltero vsoltero@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (602)542-5342 Representative Burton Cahill mbcahill@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (602) 542-5896 Representative Carruthers jcarruth@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (602) 542-5273 Representative Huppenthal jhuppent@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (602) 542-5898 Representative Loredo jloredo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (602) 542-5830 You are subscribed to AZ-LEADER.
