Subject: VA PSYCHOLOGY LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE - LAST WEEK TO REGISTER

Colleagues,

Don't forget to sign up early for the VA Psychology Leadership
Conference! Registration is filling up even at this early date so I
would encourage you to go on-line (http://conference.avapl.org/) now and
reserve your spot. The registration deadline is APRIL 2nd. Please note
that we now have less than 40 slots available and these are filling
quickly. Please kindly forward this email to your staff and trainees to
make sure they are aware of the deadline and get their spot reserved.

Regarding your hotel reservations, the Hotel Contessa had graciously
more than doubled the number of slots at the government rate over the
past month, but these are now all filled. Please do call the hotel and
see if there were any cancellations, but if you cannot get the
government rate, I would suggest you call the other hotels within
walking distance. Below is a list of hotels within about a three block
walking distance. I called each of these and found three that had the
federal government rates (as noted below). However, I encourage you to
look at their websites and do some research on the hotels to see if they
will meet your needs as I have not been to these personally.

The conference will be held at:

Hotel Contessa
Suites on the Riverwalk

306 W. Market St.
San Antonio, TX 78205
1-866-435-0900
www.thehotelcontessa.com <http://www.thehotelcontessa.com>

Be sure to tell the hotel you're with the "VA Psychology Leadership
Conference" to get the discounted conference rate.

Other hotels within a few blocks:

1) Fairmont Hotel, 401 S. Alamo (210) 224-880 - as of this evening
they have 37 rooms at the federal government rate of $117/night

2) Homewood Suites, 432 W. Market (210) 222-1515 - as of this
evening they have 10 rooms at the federal government rate of $117/night

3) Drury Inn on the Riverwalk, 105 St. Mary's (210) 270-7799 - as of
this evening they have 13 rooms at the federal government rate of
$117/night

4) Westin Riverwalk, 420 W. Market, (210) 224-6500 - no government

I very much look forward to seeing you all at the conference on the
beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk from May 12-15! Your conference planning
committee from APA's Division 18, AVAPL, and the APA Practice
Directorate has created a wonderful agenda that I am sure you will
enjoy. Please click on the website for all the latest details,
including the agenda, invitation letter, and hotel information
