My 3rd grade English teacher said "shall is only used with I and we".

Here endeth the ancient history lesson.

So, how do would/will differ from should/shall? (I've never known,
really, when to use "shall")=20

As it happens, I am very well versed in grammar... French grammar, that
is. They never bothered teaching us English grammar at school. My French
teachers used to get annoyed that they had to stop teaching us French in
order to teach us English grammar so we could then understand the French
grammar. So a lot of my English grammar is kind of reverse engineered
from French...

Should does not mean must.

"Must" is used to indicate when something has to be done.

"Should" is conditional, it indicates that it is advisable to do
something,=20
but not mandatory.

Must is the imperative, should is optional. Shall is the present tense
of=20
should and is equally suspect.
