Oops, I obviously didn't get my point across. I was attempting to say,
with minimal changes to the text, that the investigation of the police
would be critical of them, i.e. police-critical.

A 'critical incident investigation' is the correct term in OHS parlance,
so 'police-critical' etc. doesn't work.

Better would be 'Police are undertaking a critical incident
investigation after a second officer-related shooting in a week.' Or
something like that.
