'Stet' is a standard proof-editing or mark-up term meaning 'let it stand'. It
is usually
used when one person has edited, eg, a spelling, and another editor or the
original author wants the unusual spelling to remain unedited.
See Rude, Carolyn D [1991] 'Technical Editing' Wadsworth, Belmont, Ca, pp 71,
76 and 185. Also appears in Macquarie and Oxford dictionaries and 370,000
Google entries - not all of which are relevant.
