Try being an ESL teacher to REALLY get slapped in the face with the cold wet
fish of one of the muddiest languages on the planet.
The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English
is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don't just borrow words; on occasion,
English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and
rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.

It’s not just the words, it’s the grammar and platonic forms as well that we …
gleefully incorporate. Then you have the ESL affected regional dialects -
Indian English, Chinese English and so on - manically wading into the fray,
flailing away at all sides. Ai carumba!
