I grew up in Perth. We were taught that 'Haitch' was definitely not acceptable and came out of the mouths of heathens. I find that many/most Victorians say 'haitch', not 'aitch'. Drives me nuts. I also happen to work with a lot of Catholics, who definitely seem to be 'haitchers'.
