I like my hairdresser, dentist, etc, texting me to confirm my appointment a=
couple of days in advance. A good reminder for me and saves me missing the=
call and having to remember to call them back during working hours.

I never use abbreviations because I don't like the method. Also, my device=
requires a change in the data entry mode to use a digit. It's less hassle=
 to spell out each word.

I like my motorway toll company for texting when my credit threshold is=
breached. I go online and add funds and don't worry about travel sans=
 credit.

I started using SMS when I lived in Japan, and had long train rides with=
not=3D20 much to do. I used the time on the train to write SMS messages,=
took me=3D20 about 20 min to write a few words if I wanted not to have=
mistakes....I=3D20 never used this in Australia, even though I won 50 free=
 messages. I also

hate getting them...

But I guess I am old fashioned.
