Despite the fact that opposing digits are one of the most important genetic=
 advantages provided to the human race, there are limited things you can do=
 with your thumb... 

However, if survival depends on communication, there is a chance that things=
 will revert, as the human race develops "cell thumb" syndrome, where a=
 flexible 6 inch (15cms ?) thumb is a common feature of future males and=
 females alike.
