Kay,

I followed this thread when you raised it a couple of weeks ago. I
didn't chime in then because I didn't have anything to add.

However, a couple of weeks ago, I got reports of some of my clients
not being able to access my ftp server. I didn't think I have changed
anything on my end but they definitely could not get through.

Then yesterday I realised that all the clients that were having
problems were using XP. Many of my clients connect to my site
through their Windows 2000 boxes. These still worked.

I tried quite a few settings but nothing seemed to fix the problem.
Last night I updated my ftp server software and this seems to have
fixed the problem. (Probably doesn't help you specifically. I am
using FTP-Config for Macintosh)

I can only guess that one of the recent XP updates created the problem.

Not sure it helps you - maybe you need to speak with the IT people
who host the ftp server you are trying to connect to.

HTH

regards
Chris
