We are looking for someone to write the end-user documentation for a new
product (web-based, with a number of supporting apps) for use in the
real-estate industry. You must have single-sourcing skills, that is, you
must be able to generate, from a single set of files, a cross-app user guide
in PDF format and also various app-specific online help systems in WebHelp
format. Thus expertise with a product such as MadCap Flare, AuthorIt, Adobe
RoboHelp or a recent version of Adobe FrameMaker is essential.
You need to be able to start in the week beginning October 16. There will be
a client briefing and system walkthrough at our offices in Collins Street
Melbourne, after which you can work remotely. The first step will be to
explore the product thoroughly and come up with a ToC and an estimate of the
time involved. (We can help you with that.) There is little design
documentation and no useful functional specification to help with product
induction, so you will need to be thorough in your exploration of the
product and in your assessment of the likely information needs of end-users.
