I just wanted to flag that my organisation has advertised a role that requires
tech writing expertise. There are two positions being offered, one 6-month and
one 18-month

It is the 18-month term position that requires the technical writing expertise.
The position is as a policy writer, but the key project for the majority of
term is a plain language re-write of our handbook including the guidelines for
legal assistance (our legal statements of what we fund and when). The rewrite
aims to make the guidelines clearer and more consistent while ensuring that the
meaning remains unchanged.
