[austechwriter] Re: Enter vs. Type

I tend to use 'Enter' where my audience is computer literate and there may
be more than one way of getting the data into the field (eg copy/paste could
be used rather than typing).

I use 'Type' where the user is unfamiliar with software in general and may
be more comfortable with a two-step process ie 1. Type xxx in the xxx field.
2. Press the Enter key.

Maybe the new edition of the MS Style Guide will be closer to what MS
actually use in their own software/documentation - up to now I have found a
lot of terms recommended in the Style Guide are not the ones the users are
most familiar with, because the MS products they are using actually refer to
something else!
