1. Electronic Audubon Resources
Audubon has many electronic resources available to its chapters and members.
Here are a few that you might be interested in:
* Chapter Webmasters Frequently Asked Questions
<http://www.audubon.org/net/coding/faq.html>: An extensive guide to setting
up and maintaining a website for your chapter.
* The Audubon Advisory <http://www.audubon.org/campaign/aa/index.html>: A
bi-weekly electronic newsletter with information and insider reports on
conservation legislation pending in the House, Senate, and governmental
agencies.
* Bird Conservation News <http://www.audubon.org/bird/news.html>: A
periodical newsletter with extensive information on Audubon's bird
conservation initiatives.
* Chapter Communicator
<//www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=chapter-communicator>: All
chapters are encouraged to have at least one leader subscribed. An
electronic list that enables Audubon staff to Pass on information almost
instantaneously, and also to provide a forum where we can post preview
materials, shortening the lag before chapters have critical information and
give newsletter editors and other chapter officers more time to use the
information.
* Audubon News <//www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=audubon-news>:
An electronic list for information about environmental policy and Audubon.

***If you have found other resources that are particularly helpful to your
work as a chapter leader, please let us know and we will include them in a
future edition of Audubon Ohio News. Write to us at ohio@xxxxxxxxxxxx

2. Case Statement for Environmental Education
Audubon Ohio recently published a case statement for environmental education
in Ohio. It is now available on our website in PDF format (requires the free
Adobe Acrobat Reader program) at http://oh.audubon.org/naturecenters.html.

3. Take Action: Help to Conserve the Tongass National Forest
The Alaska Rainforest Campaign (www.akrain.org) is circulating a comment
letter on the Tongass National Forest Management Plan for organizational
sign-ons. If your chapter would like to participate, please contact Kristen
Berry in our policy office for more information, including a copy of the
comment letter. Organizations must sign on by August 14, 2002. Contact
Kristen today at kberry@xxxxxxxxxxx or (202) 861-2242. Our office can also
provide a text of the letter. Contact us at ohio@xxxxxxxxxxx or (614)

4. Greater Mohican Audubon Society Fundraiser
The Greater Mohican Audubon Society is conducting a unique fundraiser
involving the sale of different bird related items. Items include limited
edition Bobolink prints by Linda McFarlin, t-shirts, Bluebird boxes, and
notecards. To see a list of items for sale (and perhaps get some ideas that
you might be able to use for your own chapter) or to make a purchase, please
visit their on-line store at
http://www.geocities.com/greatermohican/store.html. For more information on
this fundraiser, please contact Delle Nadler at dnadler@xxxxxxxxxxx

5. Audubon Adventures Survey
We have heard from five chapters about their Audubon Adventures program -
please keep those surveys coming in! If you need another copy of the survey,
please contact us at ohio@xxxxxxxxxxxx We hope to share the results in the
