The "Paulstretch" effect is also known as "extreme stretch". It is a
weird and cool effect for making sweeping washes of sound. Terrific
for effects in electronic music. It tends to work best with sounds
that have a rich harmonic texture, such as orchestral or full band
sounds. At extreme settings it can stretch a single second of sound to
several minutes duration.
