Hi Paolo,
Yes there's a faster way. If you press shift+G this opens a gain dialog for the 
focussed track. Note that it does not have to be selected. In the dialog you 
can enter a gain in the edit box. The units are db, and you can enter either a 
positive or negative number.

in a multitrack recording, to get the right volume for each track, 
I use the effect "amplify". So, however, the work becomes very long. Is 
there a faster way to up or down the volume of a single track in a 
multitrack recording?
