By the way, are there any free recording software support selecting multiple input device. I some time record tutorial of using screen reader with other program, then master with Audacity. If there are any software to do it, I would save time of configuring something like stereo mix. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Aidan Maher" <aidan.smarttalk@xxxxxxxxx>

What I like about total recorder is the fact that you don't have to spesify a fresh hold or something for the thing to stop or start or whatever unless you wish to do so, but I understand from a audio editers perspective why it work the way it work. Can it automaticly start opening a URL and record at the same timeNo, but neither can Audacity's standard record pick a URL. Audacity records from the device selected in Device Toolbar, and records whatever signal is coming into that device.can you filter out the silent gaps in a stream wile recording? You can turn on Transport > Sound Activated Recording, then Timer Record would use that method of recording. This means that recording would pause when the input signal fell below the amplitude threshold level you specify. But this doesn't yet have pre-roll or post-roll, so the result can be "jerky" or omit a little more than intended. For removing silence in an existing recording, Audacity has Effect > Truncate Silence.GoldWave have the same basic options, that is why I rather using audacity for multi track events or editing of one file and total recorder with realtime kasual recordings.Total Recorder is I think a recommendable product for the price, I was just wanting to clarify that Audacity does have a recording scheduler.
