Hi Maria

Being the pedant that I am, I would be inclined to do them individually.  I
may be persuaded otherwise if there were many dozens of them.  My concern
would be that raising the level may introduce or, more accurately,
exaggerate hitherto not obvious artefacts.  Doing them individually would
allow remediation if required.
In answer to your question, I have not used chaining at all.  Others may be
more helpful on that front.

Andrew

Subject: [audacity4blind] raising volume in a collection of files?

 Hi list.
i have a collection of files i would like to raise the volume in.
they are all quiet. I know how to chain the files. Is there a way to edit
the chain so the volume is raised?
