Hi Jen! In case you're not aware of j and k, j moves the cursor to the start of the track and k moves it to the end. In combination with shift they will select material from the current cursor position to either end. To trim the left edge, put the cursor where you want the audio to start, press shift-j to select from there to the beginning of the track and then press delete. To trim the right edge, move cursor to end of required audio, press shift-k and delete. Please help me understand how to edit a track. I have the track selected and I've turned "solo" on. I know how to move the cursor forward and backward and how to pause and restart the track. If, let's say, I want to remove the beginning and end of the track, where there's ambient noise, and keep the middle, which has isolated sound, how do I select the parts of the track I want to delete? What settings need to be on or off? I know that David has written a user's guide for Audacity and I give him tremendous credit, because there's a lot I wouldn't have tried to do without this guide that he took the time and effort to write, but a more step-by-step explanation would help me and maybe others a lot. Alternatively, if someone's already explained this and I can find it in the archives, please let me know. Thanks very much.
