Okay, I'll try those a little later and see if that works.
Thanks,

Hi Justin,
The problem is that you hear only direct monitoring of your voice through a USB
mic.
This is fine for sighted users but not for us. I presume that your mic hasn't
an output in the device list, right?
Even if there were one, you would have to set this output as default (in the
sound dialog of Windows).
I would listen over the normal sound card if I were you. If you have to hear
your voice, you can either
- enable Play Through in the transport menu of Audacity, or
- enable "Listen to this device" in the properties of the microphone
But remember that there is possible feedback if you do that while listening
through the speakers and the mic is on.
No problem with headphones although they might bleed into the mic if too loud
and not of closed making.

The mike is connected to the pc, and the headphones are connected to
the mike.
JaWS still talks when I use audacity.
I'm sure I have the set up wrong.
Not sure though.
Thanks,
Justin

Hi Justin
What Robert was particularly concerned about is the type of sound card
you are using and its settings. Here is a barrage of questions:
Is it a sound card built into the computer or a mixer or similar? How
is your mike connected? Are you saying that JAWS stops talking when
you use Audacity?
When we have a better idea of your setup, it may be possible to make
useful suggestions.
