Hi Steve
Ah, don't use Pan from the Tracks menu. Use shift-p if you want to enter a
value or shift-alt-left or shift-alt-right arrow to move in increments of
one decimal point. As mentioned previously, the latter is useful in that
you can pan while playing. You can therefore hear the changes in real time.
Happy panning
Andrew

Hi. Got home from work today and got into Audacity. I went to my project,
selected the track I wanted to pan, hit home and shift end to select the
guitar in the track. I then went file, to tracks, to pan submenu and all the
options I have in there is left, right and center. It won't let me type in a
negative or positive number. Am I missing something here, or don't I have
the right plug-in? "Do you have to have the Jaws scripts? I'm running the
latest Audacity. Thanks, Steve.

You can also use control-shift-left or control-shift-right arrow. Each
press moves by one decimal point. The benefit of that approach is that you
can pan while playing and therefore get a better feel for where you want the
sound to be.
I am also a fan of the panramp.ny plugin, which allows a selection to be
panned over time.

Use a decimal figure like -0.5 or 0.7.

Subject: [audacity4blind] panning question
I've found the pan menu and I have moved tracks to left and right but I
wonder if there is a way to parcially move tracks somewhat to the left or
right instead of all the way. Thanks for any help.
