Hi Andrew,
concerning moving clips in Audacity. You can do this using the clip
left/right commands which are on the Cursor sub menu of the Extra menu.

If the zoom is set to normal (ctrl + 2), then the step size by which these
commands move a clip is just over one hundredth of a second. Pressing
ctrl + 3 to zoom out doubles the step size, and pressing ctrl + 1 halves
the step size.
Unfortunately, as is the case for the align commands and inserting silence,
these commands can't be used to affect the playback in real time.

Before dealing with alignment, were the two recordings made at the same

Especially with insert silence, the audio on one track can be moved in tiny
increments - as little as 0.001 milliseconds. Getting it exact is likely
to
involve some patience, or at least perseverance.
In Reaper, another audio recording program I use, doing what you want is
very easy. An item, which is a bit like an Audacity clip, can be moved
left
and right with precision. Of course, if there is more than one item on the
track things can get chaotic. Again, I am puzzled that I so far cannot
find
a way of doing the same in Audacity with the Keyboard. Does anyone else
have suggestions?

Hi all.
I have recently found a second recording of an Indian music concert using a
different soundboard audio master than the released version.
But the soundboard is monaural and the released version is stereo.
The soundboard recording on Youtube contains the entire concert, whereas
the
officially released version was somewhat redacted. I'dd like to sync both
versions when applicable, but I need to bee able to move one of the
versions
forward or backward in relation to the other in real time, so I can insure
a
perfect synchronization. Of course, if there are any pitch discrepancies, I
can tune both recordings. I'm also prepared not to have the officially
released version during the parts of the performance that were not
included.
Can I accomplish this kind of real-time nudging or scrubbing in order to
line up both versions for a glorious audio experience?
