This is a decent free VST impulse response plug-in that works
quite well with Audacity:
http://knufinke.de/sir/sir1.php .

It also has a paid-for pro version. 

I can't vouch for how accessible it is.

from which you can see that Freeverb 3 also includes an IR 
effect ( http://freeverb3.sourceforge.net/ ) . Personally I 
don't think it's as user-friendly as SIR. 

Impulse convolver (imp_1199) in the swh LADSPA plug-ins  
set only has compiled-in impulses. It cannot load WAV impulse
files.
