Hi Andrew and thanks for responding. What I have been doing is using the
click and creating a second track with a mic recording the click track as
laid out in the manual. When I have the track alinement as close as I can
get it, I had closed the program out and then reopened it a short time later
only to find that the recordings aren't lined up like they were previously.
Then, I reintroduced the click and repeated the procedure to align the
tracks. Can you tell me how to tell if it is the click that changes during
this process as you had said that sometimes the click track wanders? Thanks
for any help, Steve.

Hi Steve

When restarting Audacity are you finding that the latency values you set
have changed or is it that the values are the same but click track results
are not satisfactory?  I have not had a problem with settings not being
saved.  I have, however, restarted Audacity and found the click track result
to wander.  I suspect it may depend on what other applications are running
and perhaps the mood of the machine.  It is a long time since I adjusted for
latency and cannot remember how I arrived at a satisfactory setting.  It was
probably a matter of repeating the process until achieving a consistent
result.  Yes, a tad tedious.

Andrew

Hello. I'm having trouble with saving a latency setting. Using the latest
Audacity. When I have the setting right for latency and close audacity, then
reopen it and perform the same test with using a click track, the timing is
off. Using Jaws 2018 and Windows 10. Thanks for any help. Sorry I had to
hijack someone else's email but couldn't find an email with posting
instructions.
Steve
