Hi Manoj
You asked, "What am I doing wrong/" I do not know, but let's see if we can fix
things.
It appears that you are creating a second track, rather than appending to the
existing track. That can happen if the track you intend to copy to is not
selected. The following is a bit drawn out, but it may help you find the issue.
1. Select the contents of your first track, which seems to be ok.
2. Alt tab to your second window, which is also ok.
3. Arrow up or down to make sure you are on the correct track.
4. Press Enter and the screen reader will either say "selected" or "not
selected". Press Enter until it says "selected".
5. Press k to go to the end of the track.
6. Press control-v.
If that does not do the trick, let us know what happened.
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
I tried to follow your steps to join 2 tracks. So I have 2 tracks opened on 2
separate windows. Per your suggestion, I copied 1 track and pasted it at the
end of the second track. But then both the tracks started playing at the same
time. What am I doing wrong here?

Apologies for the delay - distracted by work.
Yes, just like a word processor you can select some audio, copy it and
paste it wherever you wish. You can select the entire track and copy
it or just a section. Steps are as follows:
1. Arrow to the track you want to copy from and make sure it is selected.
2. Select as much or as little of that track's contents as you wish (let us
know if you are not familiar with selecting audio).
3. Press control-c to copy.
4. Arrow to the track you want to copy to and make sure it is selected.
5. Find the point on the track where you want to paste the audio and press
control-v. Make sure that no audio on that track is selected or the
material you paste will overwrite it.

Hi Andrew,
Bingo, updating to audacity 2.32 instantly solved my problem.
Now my next question is can we copy and paste 1 track in to another,
either at the beginning or end of the track without using the align
tracks end to end option?

Hi Manoj
I am using Audacity 2.3.2 and am not having the problem you described.
Just now I recorded three tracks. I made sure that all were
selected and, from the Tracks Menu, selected Align tracks and chose
Align end to end.
Track 2 then played after track 1 and track 3 after track 2. When I
moved track 1 down, so that the second track was now at the top, the
order of those tracks was reversed. It did not matter which track I
was on.
I wonder if something may have gone amiss with your Audacity project.
I suggest doing a test like the one I described and see what happens.
Let us know how you get on.
Andrew

Yes I did all that. The only thing I did not do was mix the two. I
don’t think I had to specially mix tracks together before, as, when
I would choose the option to align end to end, The tracks would
automatically get joined. Is it something new that has come up in
audacity? If yes, then how do I mix the two tracks?

Subject: [audacity4blind] join 2 tracks
Hi friends,
Some time back Andrew had told me about joining 2 tracks in
audacity in which I have 2 tracks selected on the same window and I
choose the alline end to end option from the tracks menu. It was
working perfectly intil today, but for some reason the tracks are
not getting joined. I had recently updated to audacity 2.31. Please
do help.
Best,
Manoj
