I can't find the link to your audio file on levels but that helped me greatly.

I tend to glaze over when the virtual cable is mentioned, never having needed
it. But given that Audacity can record through it, are you not able to pull
down the recording level in Audacity? Control-shift-f6 from the tracks panel
and tab until you find Recording Volume and then use up/down arrows.

HI! I need to record from my iPhone into my computer. I've a piece of software
on my iPhone which is called "mirror my pc" which will send it's output into my
computer via my browser, but the level is too high, about 0 DB and occasionally
it clips. The source in my computer is a program I use called virtual audio
cable which I can use as the source so how to tell audacity to lower the level
from there so it won't clip.
