I'm not sure if you're saying that the noise is also there if your mic is not turned on or present... If it is not. Again as suggested elsewhere may want to look at a dynamic mic. As I have no clue as to what mic you're currently using I can't determine whether it is dynamic or condenser. Condenser mics will pick up all the noise around them where dynamics will not. It's much broader than that. But, that's a simple explaination at this point. May also want to look in to a noise gate/ noise limiter. Different companies call them different things. Their basic primis is that a point of sound is set & nothing under that noise point is allowed in. &, finally, may want to consider hooking up an exturnal recorder to a mixer & record that way not using your computer to record at all. A noise gate/limiter & a recorder may get rather expensive but, it would probably go a long way to elliminating noise in the recordings. ----- Original Message ----- From: Dang Manh Cuong To: audacity4blind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, December 28, 2014 20:29 Subject: [audacity4blind] Re: ask about recording Hi I know how to remove noise, but I want to find the solution to prevent it while record. Thank you. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jacob Kruger To: audacity4blind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, December 29, 2014 12:46 AM Subject: [audacity4blind] Re: ask about recording Not sure what's causing it, but, if you can find a piece of recording that just has noise in it, select something like a second or two of that piece, and under effects, look for noise reduction, and use the initially focused button to sort of evaluate/match what counts as noise, then select whole track, bring up noise reduction again, and apply it - haven't used it for a little while, but, for example, it took out background noise from LP recordings for me.
