[audacity4blind] adding to an already existing file

Hello,
I've just saved an audio file to which I'm currently working on in the
aup format. the next time I open this file in audacity, I'd like to add
onto it where I left off. Is it technically possible to add more to an
already
existing file without having to create a new file? Thanks in advance.
