Hi all,
I did a complete uninstall-reinstall of Audacity and the problem persists.
Here are the steps and settings that used to return manageable sized MP3s with
decent sound quality.
After labeling my songs, From export I choose export multiple
Format MP3 file
Preset radio button checked
Quality Combo box Standard, 170-210 kbps
Variable Speed: Combo box Fast
And stereo of course
As I said before, I now get huge 100 MB files which is ridiculous.
Much thanks,
StanB

Subject: [audacity4blind] Why has Audacity started exporting huge MP3 files?
Hi everyone, I believe some of you clever folk can help me figure this out.
Using Audacity, I've been recording albums from the Internet, labeling the
songs, and exporting multiple to MP3. The file sizes have been around 3 to 4 MB
per song after export.
Out of seemingly nowhere the files are suddenly huge, some more than 100 MB,
most between 50 and 100 even though they are still MP3.
I've combed through all the settings I could find but nothing seems amiss.
I remember this starting to happen after I saved a copy of a project as a
Lossless copy. I don't see how that could make all my saves going forward as
Lossless but ...
Any ideas?
Much thanks,
StanB
