Hi Gene, would you know if I can also record from my computer and mike at the same time? I am using windows xp on a laptop computer. Someone told me I needed an external sound card so the computer could record both my voice and the game I'm playing, but my friend who helped me get the audacity said I just had to check the sterrio mike box and both the moke and internal recording from the computer would work. It doesn't seem that way though, just seems to record iether my voice or the game on its own. Any idea why this is happening? Many thanks, have a nice day from Lori. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gene" <gsasner@xxxxxxxxx>

What version of Windows are you using. It is usually easier and more simple to work directly with the Windows volume control to set the source and volume of recordings than with settings in the program. If you are using Windows XP or lower, the following tutorial will give you the information you need to work with the windows volume control.

If you are using Vista, the volume control has changed and you will need a different tutorial or instruction specifically tailored to the Vista Windows volume control.

Hi I have managed to open a file and select my playback and recording prefferences, but I can't find anything to do with the volume. When I am recording it picks up sound coming through my mike, but not through my computer. Does anyone know why this is? I did select my recording and playback devices as the default, so no clue why it isn't working. Many thanks from Lori.
