The documentation you discovered, written by David on this list, is a great
means of getting started. Regardless of what you want to record, the first
thing you need is a sound understanding of how the software works. David’s
document, written specifically with screen reader users in mind, will be very
helpful.
A couple of years ago I did a somewhat slow-paced audio introduction to

. It will take you through Audacity’s layout and some basic editing.
Depending to some extent on your prior knowledge of audio recording, the manual
that comes with Audacity and available through the Help menu, is a wealth of
information.
Get back to the list with questions as they arise.

Good afternoon, my name is Justin,
I have just started in the field of voice overs using the updated version o=

Can anyone give me any tips or pointers as to what part of audacity I shoul=
d focus on to do voice overs such as commercials or narrating.
I am not doing any music at this time, just the talking, and I have
no experience in the program.
