It is 64 bit with 16gb of ram.

Ok, odd.

Maybe some form of hardware/driver compatibility issue with this latest
windows 10 update/version.

Also, is it 32 bit or 64 bit version of windows 10?

Asking all of this since here on my windows 10 64 bit edition, running
on my lenovo w52 laptop, audacity definitely doesn't seem to have any
issues with the hardware, besides having had to turn off dynamic audio
effects under sound card settings, but, those didn't cause any crashes,
and only affected recording levels, etc.

Stay well

No, none at all.

Did they provide anything like a specific reason why this latest version
of windows, possibly in combination with something else, was causing the
crash/issue?

After clean installing both Audacity 210 and 213 with no success at
solving why Audacity kept crashing, I called MS Disability Help. At
first, they wanted to blame Audacity. I showed them exactly what was
happening. Long story short, I had to roll back to the previous
Windows. Now Audacity works normally again.
