Hi Rich
It sounds like the sample rate and/or bit depth may be getting messed up
somehow. The "No specific format options" message is normal. You mentioned
that you are saving to 16 bit. Are you tabbing once to confirm that it is set
to 16 bit?
What are you using to play the wav file? If not Audacity, he said clutching at
straws, that may be the issue. While not a solution to the issue, what happens
if you export as mp3?
It would do no harm to install Audacity 2.3.3. The next step may be perhaps to
do an uninstall and reinstall. If all else fails, delete the
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\audacity folder before reinstalling.
Substitute your username in that path.
Andrew

Subject: [audacity4blind] Unusual Export Problem!
I have been using Audacity for years now and never encountered this problem. I
am using version 2.3.2. After I mix down the tracks in a project and attempt
to export the mix track, I get the message: "No specific format options." I go
ahead anyway and export to 16 bit wav format, but when I play the wav file, it
is just super high-speed gibberish. It sounds like an old reel-to-reel tape
recorder on fast forward or rewind. I did this several times in different
projects with the same result. I shut down and rebooted the computer with the
same result. I have performed this function hundreds of times successfully in
the past. What could be causing this?
