Hello Rich,
I have had great results with the Baringer U 202 phono. I used it to record
cassettes and records. The phono version has a small pre-amp for hooking up a
turntable directly to it. They also have a version without the pre-amp for
a little less. It cost less than $40. I bought mine from an outfit called
Sweetwater which you can find easily on the web. Good luck.
Steve

Subject: [audacity4blind] USB to Line-in Adapter
Most laptops do not have a dedicated line-in jack, which is different
from a mic. jack. If one wishes to record with Audacity from an outside
audio source, such as a TV, radio, or phone, what USB to line-in
adapters are available to enable recording the outside audio through a
USB port? I have searched extensively on the internet, but have not
found this exact adapter.
