f6 is the standard key to move from one part of a window to another. I don't know what, if any, standard function control f6 may have. In Internet Explorer, it performs the function of returning you to the browser window regardless of where you are in the window. If you have moved out of the main program window and are in a tool bar, for example, you don't have to find the main program window again. Control f6 returns you. If you use nonstandard commands, even if they work some or much of the time, you will have problems that are unnecessary with some applications or in some utilities or in Windows itself.

Well, David, some of the apps that have used in past, for programming purposes specifically used ctrl+F6, as well as F6 - something related to child/parent UI interface elements - something along lines of F6 navigates to next child from same parent, but, ctrl+F6 navigates to next grouping/category of elements, or something - but, also possible that at times ctrl+F6 might just ignore the ctrl key, and just interpret it as F6, but, I think I generally just think of ctrl+F6 first, for most things, but, suppose does depend on what, where, when and why...<smile>Stay well Jacob Kruger Blind Biker Skype: BlindZA "Roger Wilco wants to welcome you...to the space janitor's closet..."----- Original Message ----- From: "David Bailes" <david_bailes@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <audacity4blind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, February 03, 2015 11:17 AM Subject: [audacity4blind] Re: Toolvar areas - was Audacity Plugins Hi Jacob, just to add that most programs use F6 to move to different areas in a window. Audacity is non-standard in using ctrl+f6, and uses F6 for something else.David.On Tuesday, 3 February 2015, 8:42, Jacob Kruger <jacob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:Ctrl + F6 navigates between what NVDA will announce as track panel, selection toolbar, and transport toolbar - that last one is the one that contains record, pause, play etc. buttons and also lets you tab around tofind things like input devices/sources, input and output volume levels, andif you then again hit ctrl+F6, it will cycle back to track panel. Have you gone through David's screen reader user's guide..?Although last time I looked at it was quite a while ago, think that was oneof the first things picked up from it - unless I just remembered ctrl+F6from some other time - always been relatively important in terms of jumpingaround to different sections of the interface of various pieces of software...<smile> Stay well Jacob Kruger Blind Biker Skype: BlindZA "Roger Wilco wants to welcome you...to the space janitor's closet..."----- Original Message ----- From: "Hettie" <hettie.woehler@xxxxxxxxx>To: <audacity4blind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, February 03, 2015 10:06 AM Subject: [audacity4blind] Re: Audacity Plugins Thanks Jacob How do I access the toolbar at the top of the screen with nvda? The next step is to delete the sections I don't want to keep and export it to .mp3. Yes, I did download the necessary file to do that. Talking about plugins, are there any plugins I need to download to streemline the process?
