[audacity4blind] Timer Record

Hi all.
I am wanting to start a recording at 1400 hours and end it around 1730.
Having read the instructions, I am a little confused as to how I can do this.
It seems that if you change the end date, the start date changes and a similar
thing happends with the time.
Can anyone tell me a simple way to get round this?
I am using Jaws 13 with Windows xp.
