Hello, David and Robert,

David, I have reset the shortcuts after removing the C-command. The
C-command has returned, but persists in refusing to work.

Robert, I have carried out your suggestion. Indeed, it had the wished effect.
Many thanks!

Kind regards.

Loek.

Hi Loek,
If you haven't made either any or a small number of changes to the default
keyboard shortcuts, then in the keyboard category of preferences, you press
the default button to reset the shortcuts.

David.

David, I had checked that before I wrote that the command had been defined.
I have tried to remove it with the purpose to define it once more. However,
there were probloms with finding de file Audacity-keys of something like
that.

Kind regards,

Loek.

Hi Loek,
can you check that that the play cut preview command has the shortcut C
assigned to it. You can do this in the keyboard category of preferences. If
you tab to the search box, type in play cut, then tab to the tree view, you
should find the play cut preview command there, and the shortcut is read
after the name of the command.

David.

Hello, David,

Concerning the command C: Alas, your reply didnot give the solution. I had a
selection, made with [ and ], and the track had been selected. I have tried
to solve the problem by reinstalling Audacity version 2.1.1 after removing
version
2.1.0. It didnot bring the wished result. It is strange that the command has
been defined as well.
Fortunately, for the time being I can help me with the new commands shift-f5
up to shift-f8.

Kind regards,

Loek.

Hi Loek,
Pressing C for play cut preview only works if some audio is selected, that
is, both a track and a time range are selected. The new commands don't
depend on whether a track is selected. Does this solve the problem for you?

David.

Hello, David,

The new commands as shift-f5 up to shift-f8 are useful additional ones.
Thanks.
However, the c-command for a play cut preview was useful too. This command
hasnot any
effect in the new version of Audacity, although it has been defined as a
shortcut. How can I repair this?

Kind regards,

Loek.

range

In Audacity 2.1.1, there are four new playback commands to check that you've
selected the time range which you want:
1. To play a short period before selection start, press shift+F5.
2. To play a short period after selection start, press shift+F6.
3. To play a short period before selection end, press shift+F7.
4. To play a short period after selection end, press shift+F8.

Of these commands, shift+F7 to play a short period before selection end will
probably be the most useful. It allows you to listen to the end of the
selection without having to listen to the whole selected time range.
The periods before and after selection start/end share the same settings as
the play cut preview command (C), and can be set in the playback category of
Preferences.
These commands are similar to the corresponding commands available in
mp3directcut.
