the first one I inserted Z after X on. I like this method of splitting if I
can just iron it out. Any help is appreciated.

The reason is probably that the whole track was selected when you
added the labels:
1. whole track selected
2. z, control+B ->creates a label for the whole album
3. play
4. x -> stops but adjusts only the left side of the selection, the
right side is still at the project end.
5. new label -> whole album without the first song.
As you can imagine, this adds up.
If the album had 20 songs, you would end up having saved 210 songs...
The lesson to be learnt, always press home before starting the
labelling process.
Arrow left or Control+Shift+A work also, especially if you don't want
to start the process at the beginning of the album.

Hello All, I've recorded an album, the amplified mp3 recording is 89MB.
After splitting with labels and exporting multiple the finished product

619MB. I did insert Z after X when splitting the tracks as suggested by
Robert in an earlier post. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. I do
