I don't think it's a change within Audacity. Those sub menus on Windows 7
contain the contents of the program's jumplist, and it's also available in
the context menu of the program's taskbar button.
On Windows 10, you can still access a programs jumplist on the start menu,
but's it probably easier to use it's taskbar button. If you want to do
this, then it's easiest to pin Audacity to the taskbar, so that there is a
button permanently there.
Once you've got a pinned taskbar button, press window key + t till you get
to the audacity button, and then open it's context menu, which includes the
jump list. Alternatively, if the Audacity button is the nth button, you can
press windows key + alt + n to open the same context menu.
For the .aup files to appear on the jumplist, then in default programs, the
.aup file type must be associated with Audacity - when I looked, that
wasn't the case on my account, and I had to set it up.
I'm not sure where Classic shell is getting it's list from. I guess it
could be the jump list if you have associated audio files such as .mp3 with
Audacity, but my guess is that you probably have not done this.

the respective program. I find that a very handy feature. So much so, that
I installed Classic Shell to have this feature in Windows 10. Formerly, the
Audacity submenu only contained .aup files. Now it contains all recently
processed files. The many audio files which I have dealt with and no longer
need displace the project files. Since I’m not aware of having changed my
system settings, I think it must be a change within Audacity.

were listed, which I found very useful. Now though, the list is filled with
previously imported audio files. For me there is no benefit in this, since
they’re all files that have already been processed. I wonder if the display
mode could be made optional.
